Free Quote

  • Upon your request we will set up a time that is convenient for you to meet and discuss various design, style and colour options.
  • We come equipped with samples and pictures to stimulate your creativity.
  • We will leave you with a printed quote in hand.

Installation

  • Once you have accepted the quote we will give you an approximate installation date.
  • We will confirm our arrival date approximately one day before we come.
  • When we arrive we will layout with you, in water based marker, the outline for your borders.
  • Upon meeting your satisfaction with the design we will then remove approximately 1 1/2" of sod from the area where the border is to go.
  • All the sod inside the bed will also be removed.
  • We will then do any final preparation necessary to prepare for the pouring process.

Cutting the sod                                                   All the sod is removed - ready to pour!

  • Available as an option, we will install a commercial fabric starter strip to ensure continuous weed suppression.

  • Our next step is to begin the mix. This is done in trailer-mounted mixer parked on the street or back alley. We carry all the necessary ingredients on board our trailer to make the high strength mix necessary for our Alberta climate. If coloured mowers edge or coloured stamped borders were your choice, the appropriate integral colour will be added to the mix at this stage.

  • Let the extruding begin! The mixed concrete is then transported via our specially modified wagon to the prepared site. (There is a good reason our parents let us play with wagons while growing up) Here the mixture is shoveled into our extruder one scoop at a time and our job is to feed the machine while following the prepared trench.

  • Once extruded your borders are trowel finished, stamped (if chosen), control joints are cut in and, if applicable, 2 coats of sealer are applied (day 2). Final cleanup and and your borders are ready to enjoy for years to come.
